Information for visitors

If you have a case at Salisbury Magistrates Court you will usually be summonsed or bailed to attend either for the morning or the afternoon session.   When you arrive at Salisbury Magistrates Court you will have to go through an “airport-like” security system.  After you have done this you should make your way straight to the reception desk, where one of the ushers will cross you off the list if you have a case that day.  However, there may be a very long wait, particularly, if the cells are full because prisoner cases take priority.

Facilities available at Salisbury Magistrates Court

Refreshments are available at this court via vending machines.

There is also wi-fi available within the court building.

There is NO parking on-site at this Court, neither is there any available in the immediate vicinity (ie not within 500m).  This can cause real problems for people attending the court and we would strongly advise that you allow at least 20 minutes in order to find a suitable parking place.  The streets round about the court unfortunately tend to either be heavily congested or you are simply not permitted to park there.  Please do not use the car park around the back of the building as this is reserved for magistrates, ushers and court clerks.

There are baby-changing facilities at Salisbury Magistrates Court

There is disabled access, and there are disabled toilet facilities. There is also blue badge parking.  If you have a disability and need help attending a hearing, you should contact the court to make sure the facilities meet your specific needs, or to discuss the possibility of making special arrangements. Guide dogs, and other assist dogs, are welcome at this court, and Salisbury Magistrates Court also has hearing enhancement facilities.
