Information for visitors

If the police or the courts have notified you that you need to attend Swindon Magistrates Court you will be given a hearing date either for the morning or the afternoon session.  Even if you attend at your appointed time, you may have a very long wait before your case is called.  This is because there are often numerous other cases that Swindon Magistrates Court needs to deal with, and if these cases involve someone in custody then they will take priority over yours.

When you arrive at Swindon Magistrates Court you should go through their security check before going to the reception desk to give your name.  The usher will ask you for details of your solicitor who is attending and will ask you to take a seat in the waiting area while you await your solicitor’s arrival.

There is no parking on-site at this Court, but there is public parking for a fee available adjacent to the court. (ie within 500m).

There is disabled access.  There are lifts and disabled toilet facilities but NO blue badge parking.  If you have a disability and need help attending a hearing, you should contact the court to make sure the facilities meet your specific needs, or to discuss the possibility of making special arrangements. Guide dogs and other assist dogs are welcome at this court, and Swindon Magistrates Court also has hearing enhancement facilities.
